About this property

Welcome to The Old Castle Hotel

The Old Castle Hotel is a low-key establishment combining the features of a hotel, inn, and pub, situated on Sudan Road in Weymouth. It offers simple, recently updated rooms above a traditional pub setting with a well-regarded beer garden. Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast featuring quality cooked options, as well as a popular Sunday carvery in the bar area. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi and parking, although the parking space is somewhat limited.

Set just steps from the seafront and about 1.3 miles from Weymouth town centre, the location is convenient for exploring local attractions. Nearby points of interest include Weymouth Beach, Durdle Door’s limestone arch, and Nothe Fort museum. The surrounding area is also well suited for those walking the South West Coastal Path, with easy access to quiet pedestrian routes and the beach within minutes on foot.

Guest reviews highlight the welcoming and friendly atmosphere created by the owners and staff, with many praising the breakfast and the comfortable, clean rooms. Some note rooms can be on the smaller side and slightly warm, with limited air conditioning options, but overall the accommodation is considered good value. Evening dining options on-site are limited; however, takeout food is welcomed and can be enjoyed in the pub's bar area.

This property is particularly suited for visitors looking for a relaxed, no-frills stay close to the coast who appreciate a traditional pub environment. Families and individuals seeking easy beach access and a peaceful location removed from town noise may find it appealing, while those requiring comprehensive hotel facilities such as a fitness center or airport shuttle may need to look elsewhere.

Really nice beer garden, good beer. Dogs only allowed outside during the summer, but understandable and plenty of room out back including covered areas.

Lovely staff/owners far enough from town that its peaceful. We had a lovely family room only downside was the room was a tad warm, there was a fan though but I was still a bit toasty. TV could of been a bit bigger but wasn't the end of the world. Again though lovely friendly people and the breakfast was amazing!!! would definitely stay again!

Great place to stay for walking the south west coastal path. Clean and comfortable room and nice cooked breakfast available early. Lovely little beach and coastal path less than five minutes walk away and about a 20 minutes walk to the old harbour along a quiet pedestrianized trail. Free parking available although space is quite small. Room felt newly refurbished and although above a pub we didn't hear any noise.

Rooms are small, but well catered for so no complaints in that regard. I was welcomed very warmly on arrival and showed to my room, breakfast was fantastic and filling. My only complaint was the lack of evening meal availability, but the owners were kind enough to offer cutlery etc for any take out food you brought back. Overall the pub had a warm friendly atmosphere and felt comfortable eating in the bar area. Will be coming back.

Chose for a little weekend away with the wife and could not have been more happy! The landlord and lady are 2 of the nicest and most welcoming couple I have met. The room was perfect for us. We decided to venture out and look around and is very close to Weymouth Town centre. Had a bite to eat at the hotel and wasn't disappointed! All round a great experience and would definitely recommend
